Agricultural Land Use Adaptation: Prospects of Organic Fertilizer Use Among Smallholder Farmers in Northern Ghana

Agricultural and environmental benefits associated with organic soil amendment are well known and documented in northern Ghana. Attempts are being made by stakeholders in agricultural development to promote its preparation and use among small-scale farmers as a cost effective and sustainable way to increasing production/productivity among resource. However, very little is known about the socio-economic prospects of the input from own perspective. Thus, the overall objective of this research is to examine from farmers view, the potentials of organic soil amendment in order to contribute empirically to facts for evidence based policy interventions in promoting organic fertilizer use among smallholder farmers in Northern Ghana.
